Ashrae load heating recovery

Post by Cedric »

Hi

With Ashrae load, I am trying to edit heating and cooling load. I am meeting a trouble with my heating load. The thing is that "heating recovery" doesn't have any effect on heating load. If I put 0.5 or 0 the result of my heating load is the same. So I am wondering if I can see the effect of heating recovery value with Ashrae load way?
Thanks for your reply. Cedric

Heating and cooling loads have nothing to do with your recovery and hvac systems as far as I understand it. Load is what you have in terms of heat gain/heat loss within your conditioned space. It is the result of external weather conditions such as external heat gain from the sun, or heat loss during cold weather, as well as, occupancy, lighting, and receptacle gains (internal gains).

Put simply heating/cooling load is the total load your HVAC system sees and needs to deal with.

Heating recovery is what I believe is a process in which you re-route your heating air flow so as to minimize the delta T of the supply air and hence consume less energy to meet your loads.

Hope this helps.
