Why won't my SFP appear on the report

Post by Ecoboost1 »

I am pulling my hair out trying to get the SBEM to report the SFP under E on the BRUKL but it keeps putting it under D. What do I need to do? My client is not accepting D as it is most certainly a local system and not a zonal unit.

See the following thread: viewtopic.php?f=244&t=6174&p=15518&sid= ... ea4#p15518

As you will see from the table, SBEM is not capable of reporting SFP's to columns E,F or G.

This is not a problem with the IES interface to SBEM, it is simply an SBEM limitation, and is therefore out of our control.

ApacheSim method can report SFP's into column's E & F, it can't output the scenario required for column G though. You will see there are problems with reporting to a few other columns in the current version, this should be a lot better in the upcoming VE 2015 Feature Pack 2 release.

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. You're basically telling me that they put in an informative table, but they have no means to make it report accurately and therefore inform the person reading the document?

Why was this not addressed? Who can I contact regarding this?

I rarely take on non-domestic consultancy, but any time I do I get made out to be an idiot due to this stupid software

I wouldn't call SBEM (or any other Part L software) stupid, in its current form it does the job(s) it needs to.

The comment from the SBEM Helpline on the post I linked to should answer your questions on why this happened.

For SBEM to cover all the SFP scenarios would probably require a change to the interface and back end.

I could be way off the mark but what I take from their comment is that they were told by government "parties" involved something like...

"Check this new Non Domestic Building Services Compliance guide. We are now doing this for BRUKL reporting, fit SBEM around it as best you can"

Again, my guess on that is probably incorrect, but their comment does show that there is probably a lack of communication between government parties & contractors.

If you want to discuss this further then you can contact the SBEM Helpline through the feedback form on their website.
