Subtracted space in room is being calculated

Sorry for the delay in responding to this. You might not have any experience using ModelIT in <VE> but this is a scenario that is not possible using the ModelIT tools.

When modelling "doughnut" shapes, either with a room inside another room or an empty volume as your example is, you should split the outer ring into 2 rooms and then apply a hole (0% opacity) material to the partitions so they do not block light or heat flow. You will then find you get the expected results in Flucs.

We will try to improve the plug-in so that it can help users with situations like this.
