How to divide a wall into two or more?

Post by geshen516 »

I draw a space, and later I need to divide one exterior wall into two? These two parts are made of different construction materials.

How to add two vertices to divide the wall?

Thanks

Hi,

to separate a surface in this way you have to split the room into two parts and then join them using Connect Spaces. If you have already drawn the room then just use the Partition tool or the Divide Space tool.

Hope to make this process easier in new version.
Draw a line, and divide the wall into two.

hi... another quick way of handling this might be to draw a door on the surface to represent one of the constructions. Just create a copy of the external wall type in the doors category (and keep it shut with no crackage obviously).

Thanks David.
This idea is cool and quite smart.

would be nice to have the ability to divide a surface rather than having to divide the whole room.
