Hi all,
I am trying hard to get the amount of heat recovered from the heating system joint with ventilations system in a passive house. I am usin <VE> version 6.0.3. In Apache System in UK NCM system type i set that it is central heating with air distribution (exactly how i plan to do it) but then in heating system tab there is no heat recovery indicator, it is present just in ventilation system tab. I set the efficiency and type of the HR heat ecxhanger in the ventilation system tab, but i still do not get heat recovery curve in the result of my simulations. It is a residential house and cooling is switched off completely.
Can someone help me with this task? I have already tryed different options but still do not get an adequate result, actually no result.
Regards,
Irina
Heat Recovery problem
Re: Heat Recovery problem
you have to use SBEM or can you use the simulation option?
Re: Heat Recovery problem
I do not understand what is SBEM and where i can find it? About simulation option ... before simulating the model i have it in that window, there you can set the data about internal convection model and external and others, but there is nothing indicated about heat recovery. Or may be i do not understand what do you mean?ZapBran wrote:you have to use SBEM or can you use the simulation option?
I just want to know if i can get heat recovery curve not using Apache HVAC? Since till now i get the plot where it is written "no data to plot" and even when i tick Apache HVAC link there are still no data ... What should i do so that to get this curve?
Thank you very much beforehand.

Re: Heat Recovery problem
Hi Guys,
Did you come up with a solution to this problem?
I am trying to model a simple window heat exchanger system for a school classroom.

Re: Heat Recovery problem
What variable is showing "no data to plot"? That would typically mean that variable has not been calculated/no results so that part of the model maybe wasn't included in the simulation.
Just a thought but make sure you aren't looking at Notional Building results rather than Actual as it wouldn't have heat recovery I don't think.
Also, if you compare results form sims with and without the heat recovery component you will find you can compare the benefits form the system without needing direct Vista variable outputs for the different components, sometimes that's a useful hint.
