Apache sim won't run

Post by KevB »

Hi
I've only just started using IES so bear with me if I start bombarding the forum with queries.
I've tried to run an Apache Sim on a building but it's asking for an .ajf file. There is one that's been created in the project folder but even when I click on it and run the simulation nothing happens.
I've done another project and that runs fine, doesn't even ask for an .ajf file.
Have I done something wrong and if so what. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi ,
This problem occures when there is an invalid character in file name or project name.
The AJF is the Apache Job File.It is created for each project to control the Apache engine.

Try this , if the problem still persists please let me know.
Thanks & Regards ,

Many thanks vajindarladdad

Have saved the project off as another name and simulation runs with no problems.

Hi there.

For your project, Select File>Save Project As...

Change the Project Name to “Model1” (you can change it to something more relevant later) and Save the project to C:\VE Projects and select OK.

Select Yes to create the “VE Projects” project folder and then try running the simulation again.

Does it work?

Thank you Terence,
I did what you said. Now IES displays another error: "Apache: too many percentage day profiles". But actually I havent done so much daily profiles. I checked and actually there are many NCM profiles that were added since I am using VE compliance..and it looks like they cannot be deleted because they are in use..
What do you suggest me?
Thanks a lot!

I think the best way is cleaning up totally the model. I will create a new project located in C:\Ve projects, importing a gem file and all templates through the wizard.. I will have to set some little issues.. but I think it will work properly!

Nope...it worked well untill I switched to VE compliance..
Same error: too many percentage profiles.. what can I do? I hope the only solution its not avoiding switching to VE compliance :?

The action of going into VE Compliance and selecting a building type on Building Settings should prompt the software to remove NCM Profiles that are not needed. If it doesn't then select "ApacheSim - Compliance" from the method drop down menu and then select "Notional" from the "Bldg" drop down. After this, go back to ApacheSim and try running the simulation.
