Re: Maybe just a simple but stupid question
If you follow these steps then it should work for you
1. Run ApacheSim (in output options select "outputs required by MicroFlo" and make sure you select the rooms from the list).
2. In Vista choose Vista >> Export Boundary Conditions (choose default save location for now)
3. MicroFlo select the room and go down one level of decomposition (blue down arrow) then choose the menu option MicroFlo >> Import Boundary Data

Phil, thank you so much....
Re: Maybe just a simple but stupid question
One more question, Phil
I had modelled windcatcher which connected to a room, can I analysis internal CFD with multi spaces, like four compartments in windcatcher and one classroom? seem i can only choose 1 single room.
Please advise. thx

Re: Maybe just a simple but stupid question
the only way I know would be to connect the spaces in ModelIT so it is analysed as a single room in CFD.
(might work for what you want to achieve)

Re: Maybe just a simple but stupid question
Hi,
I face the same problem as ahsaaah, but in an external analysis. The button "Import boundary conditions" is grey and inactivated. I've read your answer but I don't understand step 3 : when I select MicroFlow, and can't select any room any more : I've just a grid and no possibility to select rooms : how can I do ?
Help please !

Re: Maybe just a simple but stupid question
Instead of combining the zones in ModelIT the normal way to do it is to model the apacheSim model with the zoning you require for the thermal model and then to "Create multi-zone space" in "Model" mode in Microflo to associate the zones needed for the CFD model into a computational domain (the region of interest). Essentially microflo doesn't care how the thermal model is zoned, all it needs to know is the extent of the domain.ahsaaah wrote:One more question, Phil

Re: Maybe just a simple but stupid question
The import boundary condition functionality isn't applicable to external wind simulations, hence the reason for it being greyed out. In externnal wind sims all the boundary condition setup is automatic. All the user does is specify the wind speed at 10m above ground level, the wind direction, and the terrain type. The boundary condition for the inflow boundary of the 'virtual wind tunnel' is calculated from these 3 user inputs. In other words, there is no communication between apacheSim and Microflo for external wind sims.GuillaumeP wrote:I face the same problem as ahsaaah, but in an external analysis.
