Altitude adjustment?

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide effective modelling of conventional/advanced HVAC systems, operation and control.

Altitude adjustment?

Post by rbg2 »

I am modeling a project for a site at a high altitude.
Do i need to enter HVAC system parameters (e.g. fan / coil cfm) for sea level or can I enter them as designed (e.g. at altitude) and the AP locate tool will tell Apache HVAC to make the adjsutment?
Thanks.

To my knowledge IES does not adjust for altitude, and assumes a standard air density. ApacheSim Calculation Methods gives a standard density of 1.2 kg/m³, while the MacroFlo Calculation Methods gives a standard density of 1.21 kg/m³. Either way, I'm pretty sure it's constant and you'll need to adjust the flowrates to a constant mass flow rate of air.
