Hi,

Thanks for this feedback.

1. I believe this option should only be available in <VE Compliance> and the superfluous checkbox on Edit Group Attributes is only appearing in Apache view. We'll get this fixed but if you make the edits in Compliance then you should be able to use Edit Group Attributes.

2. Internal Constructions are reset when run a Compliance ApacheSim simulation - this has been raised with the development team and we hope to issue a fix shortly. Sorry about this.

3. The Save As 6.1.1 option is available in <VE Compliance> from the Compliance menu dropdown, for more info see http://www.iesve.com/Support/FAQs/FAQ-answer/?qId=466.

4. Edit Display Lighting via the NCM Lighting dialog on the Building regs tab of Room Data, here you will find you can modify Display Lighting Lamp Efficacy. When you improve this value and then return to the display lighting entry on the internal gains tab you should find that the Display Lighting gains have been reduced.

Hope this helps clear things up a little for you and I'll make sure we get the issue with the Constructions assignment cleared up as soon as possible. Thanks again for raising these points.

Hi,

I'm running tests on a model to compare the Beta VE 6.2 TO VE 6.1 and have noticed a few things:

1- The TER is still as per 2006 calculation and not the notional building emission rate?

2- The CO2 emission rates still seem to be as 2006?

3- My actual Building boilers energy has dropped from 2366 MWh to 854 MWh.It really seems like a big drop, I checked the heating profiles and thereis a drop of 1 to 2 deg.C in some rooms but doesn't fully explain such abig drop. Could you please guide me towards other changes which couldaffect this loads?

4- Also in the actual building, there's a drop of the NCM auxiliary energyfrom 1762 MWh to 1386 MWh. It seems like the Auxiliary energy method hasalso remained the same whereas I thought we shouldn't be able to insert ourown AEV under 2010?

5- The glazing in the notional building is still as 2006 (roof lights + glazing in the same room)

Have those issues been addressed in the VE DSM 2010 which has just got released?

Thanks,

Helena

Hi Helena,

I think you should really upgrade to the full release version as soon as you can, there were many issues addressed in the final release version and it sounds like you were running a fairly early 6.2 beta.

The latest version can be downloaded from our website (currently being updated with a nice big "Download now" button on the front page) http://www.iesve.com/UK-ROI. We intend to have a hotfix out later this week which will fix some of the key issues raised since the release.

Hi John,

In response to your note about the fuel factors still set to 2010 values when you use the Export to v6.1.1 tool, I've noted this and asked development to improve this so the correct default fuel factors are applied when you export to the 2006 regs. Hopefully get an update to that out soon.

In the meantime, the fastest way to reset the values after you export to v6.1.1 is to just open the fuel factors dialog and click the default button for each fuel. This way the correct values will be used in the AB sims as well.

Thanks for raising these issues, hopefully we can get the fixes out to you quickly.

In room data I note that the tick box for 'ventilation & extract' is ticked and a small power value added. This is for rooms which i have not applied any vent as they are naturally ventilated. I cant find a global edit for this to remove them other than visit every room. I have over 200 rooms. eeek
