30 Day Trial software activation

Post by lfcmr »

Hi everyone

I recently downloaded the 30 day trial version, then requested keys. I was swiftly sent keys via email but I am still unable to activate software even when i try to download keys manually via the email link - Re-directs me to IES website but requests a password.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, can they help?

Many Thanks

Hi,

When you get the email to say your keys are ready there are two things you can do to use them

1. (Easiest) Launch <VE>, click on Help menu >> Activate Software. The machine needs to be connected to the internet to do this.

2. Open the email and click the link to download the keys. This will download a file keys.txt. Save this then place it in the correct keys folder (check <VE> Help menu >> Troubleshooting >> Keys Info then see "License Directory =").

If neither of these work for you then post back and I'll DM you so we can resolve any issues.

Hi Phil,

Option 1 didnt work even though i was connected to the internet. When I click on the email link, it re-directs me to the IES website support centre.

Can you send me the .txt license file direct?

Regards

Thanks for trying that.

I've spoken to the keys team and this is a common issue, you can get around this by copying the link from the email into your web browser. This should let you download the keys.txt.

So open the email, copy the full link (from http... to ...=1). Paste this into the address bar of Internet Explorer then hit enter. You should then be prompted to save the keys file. Save it to the location specified on your troubleshooting report. launch <VE> and your keys should now be active.

Hope this helps,

Hi

Tried to copy & paste link as discussed, unfortunately linked is broke and re-directs me to the IES website.

Can you send me the .txt file via email?

ok, not sure what has gone wrong then. Just reply to the email from the keys team and explain what the problem is (you can mention I have spoken to you here but can't find a solution). They will be able to get you up and running

Hi PCully,

1. I've tired your 1st option but failed too. It says "Unable to retrieve user information"

2. I've received the key but even i've set the licence folder correctly it didn't work.

Please help!

Thanks!

Sorry delay in responding on here, I assume you have contacted the keys team and they have resolved this for you.

If you requested keys and then modified the keys folder location in any way then that would invalidate the keys you previously requested for the old PIN, worth noting for future
