Effect of Shading Coefficients on conduction gain

Post by adrianchong85 »

Hi all,

I have done a number of parametric simulations using IES with different glass types and realised that the an increase in glass shading coefficient results in a decrease in conduction gains through the external walls and more notably external glazing. I have specified a constant indoor temperature of 24deg C and since conduction gains should be based on U values and temperature differences as given by "Conductive heat gain = U-value x A x (outdoor-indoor temp diff)", I would like to ask if anyone out there knows the possible explaination behind the result given by IES.

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Cheers,
Adrian
