Solar Gains for a window in a floor?

Post by Bradaz21 »

Hi,

I am currently working on a project of a cantilevered building. I am trying to investigate the amount of solar gain which can be achieved through various ground reflectance, through a window located in the underside of the cantilever. However when I go to vista to look at the solar gain results it says 0? Can any help?

Best Regards,

Hi,

This is because by default a floor has adjacency condition set to be from profile (it is assumed floors are ground contact), you can edit the adjacency condition of the floor to external air in Apache then run the simulation again and you will find a solar gain through the window is calculated.
