Trouble with solar gain section in BRUKL report

Post by Dazz »

Hello,

I purchased a student version of 6.3 however the version at my university is 6.2, when i have come to process a new BRUKL report the TER for my building seems to have changed and there are several rooms which have been excluded from Criterion 3 which were previously visible in version 6.2.

I did receive an error message when opening the file initially about some room settings may have changed, with regards to the NCM activity however they all were as originally set in 6.2.

If anyone can help me (Admin) ASAP that would be much appreciated as i have a deadline i need to achieve in the next few days.

Regards

Hi,

VE 6.3 included a new version of SBEM so this can lead to changes in BRUKL or EPCs that are outwith our control. The software goes through approval for both SBEM and ApacheSim in each release of this nature so we can be pretty confident the outputs for that version are correct.

From a quick look at one of the SBEM approval model from 6.2 and 6.3 I note that in 6.3 (SBEM v4.1.a.1) Circulation zones and Toilets were no longer included in the Criterion 3 table so this may be the cause of the change in your results.

I had suggested you upgrade to 6.4 in another post this morning but didn't realise you were a student. It can be quite difficult switching between versions of VE between class and home so I'd really suggest that you liaise with your lecturer and use the same version wherever possible (use our version archive that Vajindar pointed you to). Please be aware that we are constantly improving VE so you should try to stay on top of known issues on this forum and also release notes for each software release we do so you are aware of the issues and can avoid them as much as possible.

just in case you don't already know this...

There's an export to 6.1 option in the VE Compliance menu.

We put that in because you can't open a newer model in an older version (in the main).
