trickle ventilator

Post by rais_du_soleil »

Hi,

To provide the background ventilation, trickle ventilator of 4cm2 opening area per m2 floor area to satisfy fresh air requirement for maximum occupancy 8 -10 m2 per person as advised by BR part F. In my model, it seems to me that the required ventilation rate cannot be achieved by the use of trickle ventilators so I hope to hear from any one who have experience in this.

In MacroFLo, I assign Opening category= grille, opening area = 0.56%. Opening dimension: H=1.023m; W=0.886m and trickle ventilator size is of 40cm2. As the manufacture states that the equivalent area is of 27.6 cm2 so the value of equivalent area = 0.38 % of gross area (determined by: (27.6*10E-4)/(1.023 * 0.886)80%, with the glazing area is of 80% window area). This made up the coefficient of discharge = 0.43.

With such profile, when I test macro external vent, the air exchange rate only half of what is required (i.e. 6l/s compared to 13 l/s for one bedroom dwelling house).

I'm looking forward to any feedback soon.
Many thanks
