Effect of long-wave radiation from nearby obstructions

Post by stromann »

Hi all,

Do IES-Virtual Environment 6.0.2 / ApacheCalc / SunCast take into account the effect of local microclimate, such as infrared radiation (long-wave radiation) from neighboring buildings and local shades? And if so... does anybody know the magnitude of this contribution (compared with the direct solar radiation)?

Thanks,
Jakob Andersen

Suncast only shows the direct sun "beam" and Apache reads this - from what I can tell it's only the area in sun/shadow that is passed and nothing about intensity. The intensity is read from the simulation climate file and it looks like it's a combined figure (no long/short breakdown).
