Batch Simulation Form

Post by kparekh »

When I am running Batch Simulation, a error appears...
"FLOATING POINT DIVIDE BY ZERO
FLOTING POINT CO-PROCESSOR FAULT AT ADDRESS 004A74AA"

Does anybody know, how to solve this problem?

Dear Kewal,
"Floating point error" occurs if there are problems in geometry. You can check the geometry of the model using "Check" tool.
Using "Check" tool:
1) Select "Model" action from "Settings" menu.
2) Select different check options. (Intersections , Construction , Textures , Surfaces , Zones & Groups)
3) Click "Check" button.

If you are using HVAC network , please make sure that network is correct.

I hope this has been of some help , if you have any further queries then please don’t hesitate to contact us here .
Thanks & Regards ,

Dear all,

I'm having a similar problem. When I simulate, it appears the following error:

"floating point co-processor fault at address 004be6a5.

Does anyone knows what can be happening?

Thank you.

would be worth confirming if this only happens using the Batch option or if it just one of your sims that is generating this error. IN general we find this is related to something in an ApacheHVAC network so it's worth identifying which sim fails and then you could try running with the HVAC link unticked to confirm if this allows the sim to run, at which point you then need to start to review the network to try find out what has gone wrong

Actually I create new weather file for my city so when I am running Batch Simulation, a error appears. but with other weather file no error appears ( maybe the problem with new weather file)
The error appears was:
UNKNOWN FLOATING POINT EXCEPTION fo01
FLOATING POINT CO-PROCESSOR FAULT AT ADDRESS 0041bdb4
0041bd70 CONTH2O [+0044]
00495890 SOLVERMSYS0 [+0ac4]
0045f9d0 ITERA4 [+076f]
0048b140 ROOMS [+04fa]
0049d8a0 SSCALC [+08c1]
00407f10 ANAPS [+0500]
00491d40 SIM [+0127]
00412fd0 CALCS [+02e9]

Does anybody know, how to solve this problem?

Thank you

not seen that before, does the error only occur when running batch sim or also when you run a single simulation? these error codes are hard to read but assume CONTH2O is related to water or air moisture in some way?

Worth checking the data you used to create this weather file, maybe load it into Vista (you don't need a results file to do this) and review the data to check it is valid.

Hi
Thank you for reply
Yes also when I run a single simulation for example when I want to run Wind Rose, error appear ''unable to retrieve weather file''
I think no problem with data it is valid. Moreover I used this data for simulation in Ecotect it is Ok.

Could anyone please help me to convert the weather data to EPW format, may I did mistake when converting. I will send to him by email . My email is (msob006@yahoo.com)
Your help in this matter is highly appreciated
Thank you

This could be more easily resolved - does the weather file you created have a long name? try renaming it something simple and avoid any unusual characters then try the sim again to see if that helps. Otherwise only thing I can think is that it's an error somewhere in the weather file itself unfortunately.
