Hi all,
I would like to ask if the software calculates interstitial condensation or room condensation cause i am not sure which of the two it is referring to.
Thanks
Condensation Analysis
Re: Condensation Analysis
Hi,
The condensation analysis feature in VE is found in the Constructions database, it is a steady state calculation to assess risk of condensation through a construction makeup for given internal and external conditions.
There are notes in the Constructions Database User Guide (Help >> User Guides >> Thermal)

Re: Condensation Analysis
I have just been carrying out an interstitial condensation risk analysis and the link below, taken from a previous post, suggests VCL membranes have resistivity of 120 with foil going to around 4000 max. These would be the values directly entered into the constructions in IES.

However, I believe polythene should be more like 2,000,000 using a thickness of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. Can anyone clarify as its difficult to get accurate data. I have a value of 700 MNs/g for a 0.3mm membrane which becomes 2,100,000 MNs/g.m (or GNs/kg.m) at this thickness.
Thanks
