Initial conditions problem

Post by amymaxim »

Hi, I am having some trouble with the iniatial conditions.

I did a simulation and when this one was finished i realized that I didn´t change the iniatial conditions. I´ve chenck this when I looked at "Display Cell monitor". Here I can see that the temperature line starts from 20 and goes dicreasing to where my results should be, around 2 degrees.

Therefore I go to CFD settings and change the initial conditions (the button Apply is never highlighted so I have to press OK)

I go to run the simulation again and I say choose the option of delete and start with regenerated. When I start the simulation and display again the monitor cell I see again that the temperature starst from around 20.

I have tried putting different values for the initial conditions but it never works, once the simulation is finished I go again to the settings and again is written 20.

Why it is not working or what I am doing wrong??

Thank you in advance

Hi,

I believe the Temperature set on the Initial Conditions tab is not used by MicroFlo (your tests seem to have confirmed this). I don't know all the details of this but have seen comments in the past that initial temperature isn't so important to the MicroFlo calculations and you will get to the same result when the calc reaches a steady state convergence.

Sorry if this has caused you any wasted time already
