Tariff Analysis

Post by luanaepb »

Hi,

I'm trying to stablish the utility tariff data but I found some difficulties on it and the guide is not available yet.

I'm trying to model the following charges:

- I have 2 values of demand charges, depending on the period of the year.
- I have 4 values of energy charges, depending on the period of the year and of the time of the day.

I don't see how to set this informations... Could you please explain me how to establish this charges and what do the "standing charges" and the "capacity charges" mean?

Thank you.

Hi,

There is a section on Tariff setup in the PRM Navigator user guide, you can download this via the Help menu >> User Guides index.

I don't have a lot of experience in using this and appreciate we don't have a detailed user guide in place covering this interface but hopefully you should be able to work out what needs set up. From a quick look it appears you should use the Advanced tariff option then you can add new advanced tariffs including Standing charge (would this cover the demand charge? Maybe if this is based on peak you'd still need to estimate this manually before setting the tariff) and Time of Use rates allows you to vary the rate over different periods.

Hope this helps, I think the tool should let you get the results you need but might take a little effort to set them up accurately. Sorry I can't help out more

Is it possible to create an electricity tariff with several period of 'off-peak' per day?

For example - Economy 10 is used with electric wet heating systems in social housing. Off peak times are 04:30 - 07:30, 13:30 - 16:30 and 20:30 to 00:30. 10 hours in total.

Thanks
