I am trying to know where were the data for the Dwell Profiles were obtained and how were they formulated (i.e. were based on statistics? If so, what kind of statistics were used to determine the modulation values). The only reference with regard to this that it only states it's obtained from 'BRE estimates' but no documents can be found with regards to the BRE estimates.
Moreover, would you know how IES actually handle the occupancy, lighting and equipment (i.e the algorithm used) profiles? Does it used the peak (e.g. equipment power) and then for each room it will subject it to the relevant profiles assigned?
Thanks!!

Re: Dwell profile
Those templates all came from the BRE via SBEM templates I think.

Re: Dwell profile
Would you know specifically how SBEM/BRE come up with these estimates?
Re: Dwell profile
Hi,
I don't think IES have any input on these templates, if you have a specific query then you could try direct it to BRE themselves. In the past when we have raised issues with the templates we have passed thee to BRE and they have acknowledged errors or explained the reasoning behind some choices.

Re: Dwell profile
Would you be able to pass on the reasoning from BRE? I tried contacting them but they said that they have just consulted other companies during the process and no further details were provided. Basically, they weren't very helpful at all.
Re: Dwell profile
Sorry if you misunderstood my previous comments, I've never discussed these templates with BRE. If they are unwilling to provide you with any extra details then I don't think I'd have any more luck

Re: Dwell profile
you could try the government? I think they paid for BRE to do it.
Pretty sure IES just take the data as defined (e.g the template says at hr 14 on day 5 of week 12 the value is 100%).
