I get this message when I start a simulation, when assigning a dimming profile based on sensor 1 readings. I get the error at the very beginning, when it's processing data.
The model is a room with surroundings rooms on an off layer (to create adiabatic spaces), and of local shade objects.
When I first activate the sensors, Radiance is telling me that some sensors are out of rooms... or something like that. Those are the ones inside the local shade objects. (Even if I erase those objects, I get the same error in Apache, except instead of line 13, it's line 9).
Any idea?
Thanks!
Cedric

Hi,
This basically means a mismatch between the geometry Apache is using compared to what Radiance is providing.
The way the sensors work and are then fed into the dimming profile means that any changes to the model will then knock the room references out of sync so you have to be careful to make sure the model is finished before running the radiance sensor calcs. Try re-running the sensor calcs then try the sim again.
Sensors shouldn't be created in shading objects or rooms on a layer that is switched off so if that has happened before then I'd suggest you go back to the Radiance sensors and "Set Defaults" again to hopefully put them in the correct rooms automatically.
I HOPE the solution is as easy as regenerating the sensors...

i'd make sure that all the sensors are inside the rooms as well.
in an L-shaped room you could end up with the sensor outside the walls.

Thanks for those answers. I'm going to look at that next week maybe. I'll come back to you soon.

So, its seems that there can't be any objects on a turned off layer. I was using such objects to make adiabatic zones. Instead, I used objects as adjacent buildings; it does the same. And now, no more issues with radiance link.
