Inside Emissivity and inside surface Resistance

Post by vicivici »

I have a question regarding the inside surface Resistance for a roof with a radiant barrier (aluminium foil with an emissivity of 0.05 facing downward).

In the local code (BCA, Singapore) it is stated that I shall use a inside surface resistance of 0.595m2K/W for sloping roof for low emissivity surfaces. But not sure if this surface resistance value already has catered for the low emissivity that I am inputting into IES.

So my question is:

Shall I change the Inside Emissivity to 0.05 and the Inside Surface Resistance to 0.595 m2K/W?
Or
Shall I change the Inside Emissivity to 0.05 only and leave the inside surface Resistance on default? (IES will then calculate the surface resistance based on the Emissivity value(?))
