Internal air flow out way too big

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide bulk airflow analysis for passive/hybrid ventilation system design and simulation.

Internal air flow out way too big

Post by SantiagoGVelez »

Hi, when modelling adjacent rooms connected by an internal opening (holes) of 3.5sq.mts. I'm having results of as much as 150 L/s of internal air flow (both ways!).
Did anyone encountered this problem before?

Room general specs are:
- Same thermal template (multifamily highrise)
- Same constructions
- No Hvac
- Free floating temperature (10 to 15 degrees more than dry-bulb)
- Only infiltration for natural ventilation
- wind speed are 6m/s average
- infiltration flow rates are close to 1 l/s in biggest openings...

Thanks, in advance.

Cheers, Santiago

Santiago,

Sorry mate - I've not been on the forum for months other than a couple of quick visits and it looks like nobody else is stepping up to the plate.

There must be something obvious going on here and even though I'd guess you've solved this yourself by now do you still have the problem model? It might be worth posting what you found to be the cause for others to see in case they are getting similar issues?

If you haven't solved it post a link to the model on here and I (and hopefully others) will have a look for you.
