Divide by Zero

Post by ejh »

Hi all,

I get a div by zero error when I hit simulate on my model. Details provided are visible here: http://i.imgur.com/FYiut.png

Any common mistakes that cause this?

Cheers

Hi,

I don't know of common mistakes that cause this, it can be any number of things that have gone wrong so that at some point in the calculations something is trying to divide by zero. If you're using ApacheHVAC then I'd suggest you start there seems to be related to systems whether it's apacheHVAC or Apache systems though), check all inputs are as they should be.

If you don't see anything wrong the trial and error should bring you tot he source of the error. Try running the same model with different systems, remove Renewables, run subsets of the rooms until you get there.

Hi All,

I had this problem with my model. I found the problem was with my the following:

Building template manager> thermal conditions>system> Apache system (icon next to HVAC system)> hot water set points:

I had my mean cold water temp at 0 deg. C and my hot water temp at 0 deg. C

If you have the same problem, it might be something similar.
