Keeping both versions 6.4.0.7 and 6.4.0.8

Post by cvktkh »

Does anyone know how to have both IES versions 6.4.0.7 and 6.4.0.8 installed on a single PC?

No , you can't keep VE 6.4.0.7 & VE 6.4.0.8 version on the same machine as these are not major builds , however you can keep multiple major versions of VE on the same machine.

Example :VE 6.0.6 & VE 6.3 or keeping VE 6.3 & VE 6.4.0.7 .

Once you update the 6.4.0.7 with the patch of 6.4.0.8 , the 6.4.0.7 version will be replaced / overloaded with 6.4.0.8 version.

It is always benificial to keep multiple versions of VE on the same machine. ;)
Thanks & Regards ,

There can be many reasons you might wish to roll back to an older version, due to the high volume of changes (usually bug fixes) you can often see results changing between versions (ask any UK Compliance user about the last round of NCM Activity database updates in 6.4.0.8). When assessing designs you may feel you get a more consistent set of results using the same software (flaws and all) however I would always recommend to use the latest version to take advantage of the new features and improvements.
