Suncast images

Post by JND71 »

I have imported a site model from sketch up run a sun cast analysis.
When I view images of the results some of the buildings are missing whole walls or parts thereof.
The blocks I have used are simple and I have reviewed them again to make sure nothing has been drawn incorrectly.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

It seems like , the surfaces are hidden. (Please check the model browser & see is there any room / surface shown disabled) .
If so then , please make them visible by right cliking on the room/surface "Set Surface Property" & then select a surface (which you want to make visible) , Now select "Opaque" .

I hope this has been of some help.
Thanks & Regards ,

Just in addition to what Vajindar from IES has said I'd also throw in...

Although I badmouth the IES program a bit this is one area where I think they have done a pretty good job (other than the no cancel once you try to identify rooms and the dreadful time delay that can happen on anything that has some windows/reveals).

Generally if you see problems on an import from a sketchup model it's because the source sketchup model isn't good enough. Now don't get all defensive. Not good enough for thermal work - it might look like the Sydney Opera House but have you only sketched the outside? Then how can you expect the rooms to come through. Draw a 3D model in SketchUp and it will generally come in - Draw a bunch of walls and you'll get a mess.
