STUDENTS - can't get your licence activated?

Post by joanne shaw »

You've paid for your licence... now what? You can't use it?
Don't worry - you just need to request the licence!

To request your student licence, you can do the following:

Within the <VE>
Help > Request Licences Keys
Fill in form with student email address
Click “Don’t Have Email”

From the Taskbar
Start > (my)Documents > IES > LogFiles.

Attach KeysRequest.txt file to an email from a webmail client(Hotmail/Gmail/Yahoo) and send to Keys@iesve.com.

We will then do the rest...

Hi Qibin He,

I'm processing your licence just now for you.

As you have provided your Gmail address, I will be sending it back to this account for you :)

Kind Regards

Hello, i'm a student at the university of Portsmouth. i want to get a student license for my current laptop. However, i have already ordered a new laptop that will be delivered between the 4th and 11th of December and i need to use IES before then to accomplish a task set for me by my supervisors.
I want to know how easy it is to transfer a IES license from an old laptop to a new laptop or if it is advisable. Please if anyone can help me with this, i would appreciate it a lot. Thanks

Hi Amain,

Yes, the student licence entitles you to one free licence move - provided it's done correctly!
It's pretty straight forward, all you need is one un-install PIN(http://www.iesve.com/support/knowledgeb ... &height=90%) from your old machine, and a new licence request from the new machine.

For more details, email keys@iesve.com where we're more than happy to help :)

The software will stop during the analysis, and if you click the stop, "an error occurred while running apache calculations" will come out, is it license problem?

Hi John,
I don't think this would be a licensing issue - it would tell you if a module was unregistered(ApacheSim for example).

I have pulled the following from our support database, I hope this may offer some help:
The error you are seeing may not be an error at all, it may simply be a case that the calculation takes some time to start up or perhaps your machine is struggling with memory. Try running tests on simpler models/calculations to try and troubleshoot this and ensure that you have the project stored on your local machine C: Drive in an area where you have full read and write admin permissions.
If this still doesn't help, please drop an email support (http://www.iesve.com/user/login?doc=/support/query)who should be able to assist further.

Kind Regards,
Jo
