Hi all,
I am trying to validate the calculation methods that IES and CIBSE uses for cooling loads.
CIBSE Guide A suggests the use of the Admittance method for the calculation of Cooling loads. When looking at the Apache Calc user guide I saw that it mentions that cooling loads are based on the admittance method in IESVE as well.
However, when checking the CIBSE Heat Loss & Heat Gain (ApacheCalc) user guide it mentiones that uses the simple model methodology.
Can someone please clarify cause i am a bit confused.
Thanks

Re: CIBSE Loads Cooling Loads
The 'Simple (Dynamic) Method' is what CIBSE use to describe the admittance method.
I note that the method is still described in Appendix A5.2 of the 8th Edition, but the worked example seems to be missing from the main text.
Such happy times, spending a whole day working out the cooling load for a single room for a single hour of a single day.
