GSHP and Underfloor Heating

Post by porourke »

I am trying to model a ground sourced heat pump combined with an underfloor heating system (water to water system). Basically I have 13 number individual underfloor heating loops each controlled by a thermostats. These loops are fed by a circulating pump within the heat pump. The operation of the heat pump is governed by the outside temperature as well as the individual thermostats
Additionally, the heat pump operates the domestic hot water for the dwelling through a three-way motorised valve – when the temperature in the hot water tank dip below a certain temperature (55oC) the heat pump alternate to provide hot water
I am more concerned with the energy and loads required to heat the house

Any direction would be greatly appreciated – (bear in mind I am IES-VE novice)

apologies if this has been covered elsewhere

Thanks

What are you asking exactly? How to model your system? or how to size it? Your post is not very clear on what help you are looking for.

For underfloor heating the prototype systems 07f-07h in ApacheHVAC can be used. As for GSHP, there is currently no direct way to model them in IES, however, there are some workarounds which are described in Appendix D of the ApacheHVAC user guide manual.
