Apache SIM template assumptions

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide effective modelling of conventional/advanced HVAC systems, operation and control.

Apache SIM template assumptions

Post by CGeorge »

I undertake Part L2a energy compliance analysis using V compliance.

I currently use apache sim to model the systems. I would like to find a way of interrogating the system assumptions.

Is it possible to view the apache SIM system templates, perhaps this can be done in apache HVAC? or in a different way in order to understand better things like flow and return temperature of heating and cooling systems, Sizes of buffer vessels in heating and cooling systems etc

I'm afraid not.

ApacheSim systems are little more than a complicated set of multiplying factors. No true system modelling is taking place and so you cannot interrogate things like flow and return temperatures.

If you want to model the system side properly, you need to define its details separately in ApacheHVAC and that is a very difficult task, especially for IES beginners.
