'Associated Occupied Room' Setting with Internal Voids

Post by JohnLloyd »

Within VE Compliance, can anyone explain the full purpose of the of the ‘Associated Occupied Room’ setting for any room that has been set to ‘Internal Void or Warm Roof’ room type?

I’ve had a look through both the IES and iSBEM user guides but can’t find a great deal of information on it. I suspect it may only have an impact if you’re using the SBEM engine, possibly related to the discussion in this post.

Does it have any function within DSM compliance simulations?

Thanks,
John.

Hi John,

Was looking around for an answer to this myself and found this forum post which no one has answered.

It is related the amount of glazing that the software applies to the “associated room” in the Notional Building.

The following video on our Youtube channel looks at this selection and explains why you would use it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEqrnT8YuZQ#t=20m00s

I will get this added to the VE Compliance DSM user guide.
