shading devices with windows?
shading devices with windows?
hi ,i need to model shading device in form of massive ETFE roof outside the facade, this roof is semi-transparent and we can choose g-value that we want, when i model this as a 'local shade' this doesn't let me put windows in it, when i do this as a 'heated or occupied room' then it includes windows but drags the building down to 'fail' under part L DSM compliance (massive cooling demand associated with it). what would be the best way to proceed please?

Re: shading devices with windows?
Hi Guys,
This seems to be similar to my thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=170&t=5164&sid=c49df48e ... 62274aec8c
Perhaps you can add a few more votes to get it pushed up the IES development list!
Thanks
Ross

Re: shading devices with windows?
there is no option for 'unoccupied room', if you put 'internal void' it doesn't detect this as shading with windows.
Re: shading devices with windows?
You can omit it from the calculation by simply unticking a box. Select the room in part L, look to bottom left of screen and see "Include Room(s) in Analysis?" untick the box, job done.
