Queue Feature

Post by JohnLloyd »

Hi Guys,

Has anyone managed to get the Queue feature under the "Files / Queues" tab in Radiance to work?

Whenever I try to use it it appears to stall right at the start of the calculation, but no error is given.

Anyone else ever had any more luck?

hmm seems ok when I try it on some simple rooms. Do you get this problem for all rooms? Perhaps it is one very complicated geometry or one of the input files causing the problem.

There's a Radiance.log and error log in the project\Radiance folder that might tell you if there was a problem?

Hi Phil,

I've tried it on the very simplest of models with the same problem...perhaps I'm doing something wrong??

How long does the batch run take to run for you? If I generate the two images I'm trying to run in batch individually, it takes about five minutes in total, but I've left the batch for over 20 minutes without it ever rising above 0.00% complete... :?

The problem was because you can't use the queue feature with 'working plane' calculations, unfortunately.

aah I hadn't noticed that before, have asked for it to be enabled in the Queue feature and if that's not possible then we should at least show a warning for the users.

until then it's just something to keep in mind and look out for I suppose.
