Heat Rejection for Air Cooled Chillers

Post by junaidbinnaseer »

I looked through results which I got after ApacheSim simulation. It shows a substantial value of heat rejection for air cooled chillers which is then shown in the BPRM report. The heat rejection for air cooled chillers should be zero. What is causing this problem?

In your Apache System, by default the heat rejection is set to 10%. If you have a packaged chiller and the SEER information already includes the energy consumption related to heat rejection, you should change the heat rejection percentage to 0%.

Unfortunately, the SSEER calculation will not automatically update after doing this and you will need to recalculate it manually using the equations given in the NCM Modelling Guide.

Sorry to revive an old post, however, I am also running into similar problem. Even after setting heat rejection percentage to 0% in apachesystems, and also inputting 0 kW for the condenser fan energy in ApacheHVAC I am still seeing heat rejection consumption in the simulation results, and have no idea where it is coming from...

Anyone can shed a light on this, it would be very appreciated!

EDIT: nvm was getting heat rejection from dx units also incorporated in the model...
