Groupin problem 2

Post by R Dias »

Hello, how are you?

I'm having some problems when I model in SketchUp usin groups and the plug-in's option Select Groups.

When I first indentify the model, everything occurs well, but, sometimes I need to change the geometry that is already identifyed. Then, when I run the plug-in again, the old geometry comes back, sometimes over the new geometry! :((

I would like to know if there's a way to update the geometry in Select Group option.

Thanks for the attention.

Hi,

I've seen that before, usually related to Groups in the model and it seems to happen more if something has gone wrong when identifying rooms.

What I believe happens is when you have a Group the first thing that happens during the Find Rooms process is the Groups are exploded and then the geometry is analysed by the IESVE plug-in. Occasionally when you return to your SketchUp model the Group is there but there is also a version of the same geometry there that is locked and hidden. You can see this clearly using the Outliner (Window menu >> Outliner) which shows the Locked hidden group, you can select it there and then unlock and remove it.

I don't know what causes this to happen I'm afraid but if you see it happen to a project then you can clean it up yourself using that method I described.

Thanks a lot for the help!!!

I did what you suggested and I could find the "ghost groups" in my model, and delete then.

Thanks again!!!
