Modeling aging effect of building envelope

Post by kumudini1 »

Does IES capable of modeling the aging effect of building materials? Because when we model a building for a longer period to view the energy consumption, the aging effect of roof, wall and window materials will affect the heat transferred to the building. So the energy consumption will vary.

Does IES capable of modeling the properties such as solar reluctance/transmittance as a function of time?

Thank you!

This isn't an effect I'm familiar with and I am not sure what kind of impact it has. To my knowledge the VE doesn't have any inbuilt model for this but you would be able to create and assign different Constructions to represent the building over time and study the impact on the energy performance of the building using different simulations which could then be compared quite easily in Vista to observe the effects.

Construction in world is the second most important activity, research is conducted on trying to maintain the age or life of a building. All countries on the path of fast development of infrastructures in the fields like construction. EPC world construction is focus on providing news on development of world on construction.
