Wind pressure on different orientations

Post by Giovanni »

Hallo everyone,

does VE automatically take into account surface orientation to calculate wind pressure?
Is there a way to display wind pressure on a specific orientation in the results?

As in "Macroflow opening type" I define just the exposure type I guess the orientation (facing North, South, East, vertical or horizontal surface..) is internally taken into account..

thanks for any help,

Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

Yes the orientation is taken from the model geometry itself but you do need to specify the Exposure type so that correct coefficients can be taken into account in the calculations.

I'm not sure how you get the result out for all surfaces of a shared orientation. However tools you may find useful are displaying results at surface/opening level to see only selected openings and the Vista pro tools to view MacroFlo Arrows and also the Windrose.
