Apache Room Loads

Post by Cristian »

Hello all,

I was runing the ASHRAE Loads to see the room loads so i know what equipment (fancoil in my case) to install for each room, the problem that i met when i was runing the Apache Simulation was the difrent loads for the same room. The heating loss that i was getting from the Apache Simulation it was 2 or 3 times bigger then the heat loss that i was getting from the Ashrae Loads. The cooling load was almost the same in both cases.
The question, is wich result i should take in to consideration in order to install the right equipment for that room the result from the Ashrae Loads or the results from the Apache Simulation.

PS.
In both cases the the internal and external condition are the same.
(i am sorry for my poor english)

Hi Cristian,

We can't really tell you which results to use but help you better understand why they are different. If you have a look at the User Guides area in the software (Help menu >> User Guides) then you will see under Thermal you can access the Calculation Methods documents which go into great detail on the difference between the steady state loads calcs and the full dynamic sim.
