Enquiry on "Add Floor" imported from CAD files in DXF format

Post by starrycool »

Hi,

I have been trying to "Add Floor" in Simulex but every time I click on "Add Floor" from the Menu Item: Building, and select the DXF file that I want to open (I clicked "ok" after selecting the DXF file that I want), nothing appears.

Can anyone help me to solve this issue? What should I do?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Hi Starry,

I think you have an older version of VE 2012 that displayed this problem, jump on to the IES website Download Centre and get the patch for the latest version and you should find this works as expected.

There is some new Simulex visuals due to be released soon that you might find interesting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1muGbU-9Xo

Hi,

Thanks for the help Phil. I am now able to add a floor. However, after I have added the floor and define the units of the DXF file, nothing appears in the floor plan! Nothing is drawn on the screen of the floor plan.

Can anyone help me to solve this issue? What should I do?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Hi,

As long as you are running VE 2012 Feature Pack 1 Hotfix 2 or later (check Help menu >. Troubleshooting >> Install History and confirm it's 2012.0.1.2 or later that you have) then this should work for you.

You might want to review the DXF that you are attaching or else check the units etc when you attach it?
