ASHRAE 90.1 Navigator - HVAC System

Post by fsarno »

Hi,
I have a problem with IES VE, when i want generate the Proposed HVAC system.

In Navigators view there're 2 possibility:
a. Improve upon baseline
b. or Custom System

If I chose the second way, I have two problems:

1. I can't open the next Navigators step: System Parameters, thus the software don't generate the spreadsheet in Load Data folder.
2. Hyperlink to "Generate the baseline model" not appear.

Which is the correct procedure?

Hi,

This isn't anything you are doing wrong, there is a bit of logic in the PRM Navigator where it ensures that actions aren't available until prerequisite actions are marked complete.

In this case it is only checking the first action rather than looking for either of them to be ticked.

Short answer: you just need to tick "Improve upon baseline" so it will let you carry on after you have defined the system.

I'll make the sure the development team are aware of this one (I'm sure they are)

Thanks.

But I don't understand if the step "System Parameters" is necessary to do.
Because if I don't create the spreadsheet in Load Data folder, in the step "Room Load Calculations" the run is stopped.

what happens when you try to click the System Parameters action? It should open the dialog based on the whatever prototype systems you have in your Baseline/Proposed network so if you haven't imported any from the library that is a possible reason it doesn't open.

I don't think the step is crucial but you should be able to open the dialog and make any required changes there so it's worth trying to get it working.
