Insulation

Post by jay »

Hi

I have got a model of a building with brick cavity external walls (U-value 1.4868). I have done the dynamic simulation with londonDSY weather data for the original model and achieved the results.

Now I want to change the constructions with insulated external walls (U-value 0.2086). I did this in the building template manager and also changed the glazing to be better. I have simulated again in Apache after these changes, expecting a reduction of energy.

But I cannot see a difference in the results. Could somebody please help. Thanks.

make sure you have well assigned material to wall and glazing, as my experiences, Apache engine is very sensible, it reflects well at each small building thermal modification.

yeah that would be my first instinct as well, have a look at Assign Constructions in the Apache application view.

Construction Template is only applied to new rooms that are drawn, you have to use Assign Constructions to apply new Constructions to existing geometry.
