IFC file import and connecting spacing

I am trying to import a model from Archicad 20 into IES, with little success so far. No matter how the zones are configured within Archicad (to fill under internal partitions, and out to the external wall line etc), they end up with gaps left between them when imported via IFC.

What configuration should I be using to export from Archicad to produce the correct geometry in IES? How can I ensure there are no gaps between zones/spaces and that window openings are correctly shown etc.
