How to simulate a chiller with a storage tank?

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide effective modelling of conventional/advanced HVAC systems, operation and control.

How to simulate a chiller with a storage tank?

Post by Rui_MLG »

Hi to all,

So there it is the question...it is possible to simulate a chiller with a storage tank? If yes how can i do it? If no, is there an alternate way?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I don't believe there is any model for this in ApacheHVAC, there may be ways to simulate this by post-processing results but I think you'd have to get quite creative, first running the full simulation for your HVAC system to calculate loads and then using these results in Excel (or equivalent) to account for your storage tank. I don't have a feel for how reasonable this is but would at least allow you to attempt the project using your VE model.

If you would like to add a request for this in a future update of ApacheHVAC then please send it on to feedback@iesve.com
