System load sizing

Post by smirian »

Hello,

I am working on an office building model in IES 2016. I have changed one of my systems to a fan coil unit from the templates library. I ran the room load calculation. it seems fine . but when I run the system load sizing from navigator it seems that nothing happens. the heating and cooling air flow are 0 at the controllers. and when I run the dynamic simulation I have 5000 unmet load hours. it is like there is no system. I am new to the IES and have no idea why is like that?

Any hint can help a lot,

Thanks,

This seems like a controller issue. Make sure if at your flow controllers, it's on and activate at the appropriate setpoint. If the flow are 0, it could be that the autosize did note update the flow input in the controller screen.

I think in general, I have a lot of issues with the autosizing function. I think you'll find a lot of posts on either coils are undersizing or some bugs that didn't update the appropriate coils, etc. In other words, don't be surprise if the software fails you.
