Inconsistent graph variable colours in vistapro

Post by jerry »

Hello
Despite the introduction of "sessions" in VE2017, it appears there is still no easy easy way to ensure your chart plot colours remain consistent when switching rooms but plotting the same variable. For example I want to plot room temp for 15 rooms, one at a time (ie 15 graphs) but VE assigns a different plot colour each time. So I must manually change the plot colour of 15 graphs (this has proved impossible with a as chart preferences seems to ignore my requests), I asked back in Jan 2015 when this would be changed and was told it would be fixed in a future release, it doesn't appear to have been.

Hi

Chart plot colours can be changed by clicking the graph to open chart data.

I have provided a link to the FAQ on our website on this subject. It contains a video on how to use this feature.

Please note that currently the sessions feature does not save the chart plot colours. This is something we are looking to address in the future.

Thanks James, so the best that IES can manage, 2 years after I raised this annoying issue and was told it would be fixed in a future release - is this long-winded work-around.

IES Technical Support Reference: 0075803 (14 Jan 2015)

"Dear Jerry,

Thank you for your email enquiry. We have identified this as an area where improvements in the software unfortunately have proven to be unwelcome by majority of users and VistaPro will be enhanced so that the colours remain consistent when switching rooms as you have described."

Hi Jerry,

There are a number of improvements in this area that our team are working towards to make VistaPro the best way to analyse and review the results, this is just one of them and my commitment to that end hasn't changed since 2015
