Error: Maximum number of rooms exceeded, 6000

Post by jonathanLandry »

I am running the Apache Room Load sizing calculation from the ASHRAE 90.1-2007 navigator and I am stuck with the following message:

"Error: Maximum number of rooms exceeded, 6000"

I work on a large project of 14 floors and 8500 rooms. I put 1500 rooms with the template of ASHRAE "Space: Void", but I don't know what to do with the other 1000 rooms.

Does connecting rooms make a difference ? and is there a way of do it faster ?

How to exclude rooms from the sizing calculation ? or How to properly define a room as unconditioned, it does not seem to be covered in depth from the user guides ?

Putting rooms with the HVAC system: "none" does not seem to do the trick.

Please, help me the best way you can.

Hi,

The limitations are due to extension of x number of rooms could result in so many room components and associated other components and controllers from the HVAC network which will ultimately lead to Apache not being able to correctly handle the memory requirements for simulating your model, reducing the number of rooms in the model is the best course of action, consider the zoning and geometry approach and if the detail you have modelled is necessary then try to reduce number of rooms by connecting rooms that have same activity and conditioning profile where possible
