Create a rooflight in a precise position

Dear all,
I'm modelling a complex existing building with lot of rooflight in some specify position. I now how to create a generic rooflight (down to surface level-> add window) but, when I reach surface level, the dxf file on the background disappear and I've no reference to place my rooflight.

at model level

Place opening tool only works on vertical surfaces and not on orizontal surfaces.

Is there a way to draw a rooflight with a position reference?

I think you just need to attach the DXF at the level you want to draw/edit at. You should be able to place it at draw window level and it will work for you

You are right, I didn't know that I can attach a dxf file at different levels. Thank you!
