IES toolbar did not show anywhere in SketchUp

Hi all,

I need some help here...
I have installed VE-Pro ver 6.4.0.9, then I install Sketchup 8 followed by the Sketchup IES plugin (from http://www2.iesve.com/content/kb/ve/ve6 ... ugin64.msi)

But then, I can find this plugin anywhere on SketchUp...there is no IES option available, even from the 'View' or the toolbar itself.

I have reinstalled and installed both plugin and the sketchup itself. Do I have to re-install the VE-Pro also?

Hi Marcel,

I believe Vajindar from our Technical Support Team has been assisting you with this query and will continue to investigate until we can get your SketchUp plug-in working properly.

There may be some condition on your machine which is preventing the plug-in from loading e.g. another plug-in that interferes, running on non-English operating system may cause a problem, SketchUp toolbars setup may not be displaying the IESVE toolbar (check the Tools menu in SketchUp to confirm if the IES options is there at all)

Hi Guys, I have a similar problem.
I did have sketchup installed before I installed IES but I am having this problem.

Any news or help with this would be great.

I Also am having issues with the sketchup plugin/toolbar, I have VE Pro and SketchUp Free. Will it work?

I have the same problem, IES appears under Tool, but I can't find out how to show the toolbar...

Hi,

If the toolbar doesn't appear but the menu option does then the toolbar is likely just hidden. You can remedy that in SketchUp using View menu >> toolbars then tick IES.

If that doesn't work then I can only guess something went wrong on the installation side as if the plug-in is installed the option to display the toolbar should be there (it floats around when first run, rather than being positioned on any toolbar)

I tried the toolbar route and restarting, following all tutorials and making sure all the required permissions were there but nope hasnt worked yet....

I am having the same problem. I have been using previous versions of sketchup and have really enjoyed this software. I have recently upgraded to SU 2013. I also wanted to try out the ies ve plugin for sketchup and downloaded the lastest version, installed and nothing happens.

I have checked windows preferences to see if any of the extensions interfere with the ies plugin but it hasn't.

I looked in the toolbar menu to see if I can find the IES toolbar which should show up but hasn't. Restarted the computer to see if that would change anything, nothing.

Please check where the problem is, as it seems this is a reoccurring issue. I don't think it is a coincidence that more than one person is having this issue.

I have SketchUp 2013 installed with VE 2013 and the plug-in and the toolbar is there. If you have VE 2013 installed then you likely just need the plug-in http://www.iesve.com/support/knowledgebase/faq/3028

It may be necessary to remove an older version of the plug-in first?
