Software Accuracy

Post by kluxton »

Hi,

Not sure which category this would fit in but does the software have a set accuracy? For example the results would expect to be within 10% of the actual results.

Thanks!

By actual results what do you mean? Measured data?

That seems to be the way things are going now but I'm not sure how many published studies IES Have done this far. I know that in some ways the project we did with Wal-mart involved calibration against measured data but I can't see any pages ont he website I can point you to.

The Research division is likely where you'll find most indications of the areas IES are moving in these areas http://www.iesve.com/research.

I've seen some Linkedin debate on the IES Group concerning this topic as well so you might want to join up to this and get involved if nothing kicks off here.

I'm always wary of trying to compare simulation results with measured data but they are getting closer and there is a real focus on exploring how the measured data can inform the simulation and vice versa so I think it can be taken much further
