Hi everyone,
I am an architecture student doing a sustainable course. I have got a single room to test in IES with only adjacent buildings around. I want to see how the windows position and area affect the electrical lighting consumption. For this I created a formula profile to set the light on when the area is below 300 lux that I then linked to the internal gain of lighting. I then went to Radiance and added a sensor. I clicked on Apache to create the illuminance file. The issue is every time I go to do the ApacheSim, a message appears saying 'error reading illuminance file'. I have tried changing the sensor position and the room position but the message is still there.
I would like some help here as I am quite stuck with my project without the electrical lighting working.
Thanks
Error Reading Illuminance File
Re: Error Reading Illuminance File
Please ignore the previous message. IES could not read the Illuminance file because it was saved on an external HDD.
Re: Error Reading Illuminance File
Hi there, Could anybody please advise on this issue:
I'm running a batch of simulations and they all fail for the same reason: error reading illuminance file. Is there anything I'm missing here? Thanks

Yahya

Re: Error Reading Illuminance File
Hi,
When using the Parametric Batch Processor the Radiance sensors calculation has to be carried out before creating the APR file.
The correct workflow:
1. Perform Radiance sensors calculation
2. Create the APR file (make sure radiance link is ticked)
3. Run simulation using parametric batch processor.
If the error persists then the Radiance folder can be copied manually into the Parametric Batch Processor folder “workspace_1”.

Thanks a lot James,
I will try this route and will post the results here.
